At the heart of all Thea's work is enabling people to express themselves, creatively, socially and emotionally, as valued and appreciated individuals.

Get in touch to discuss your most pressing wellbeing issues and discover what compassionate and creative support Thea can offer.

"Singing makes you feel better" is common knowledge. Rigorous scientific studies world wide now confirm The Power of Music. Sharing music, and other participatory arts, in a myriad of ways, can support people's physical and mental health, especially those living with COPD, Aphasia, Dementias, Parkinsons, chronic pain, and the isolation and loss of identity, confidence and self esteem that these conditions can bring.

Trained singer, experienced community musician and creative practitioner, Thea Jacob has worked with people with all these conditions and seen first hand what a valuable, adaptable tool shared, informal singing and creativity can be.

Thea looks forward to hearing from you to design your bespoke Song Box sessions, using the power of music and creativity to support physical and mental wellbeing, quality of life and social connection.

If you are looking to reconnect the generations, Thea also offers magical 4G Song Box sessions, bringing together elders and  families with babies and toddlers to share musical fun and friendship.

Book your one-off or regular visits now.

Thea's sessions welcome everyone, including people put off singing in childhood, people with vocal, speech, mobility and coordination challenges such as Parkinson's, Aphasia, MS and Dementia. Thea has particular experience and commitment to working with profoundly disable, non-verbal adults including those born disabled, and those with late stages of Dementia or other progressive conditions. Family, friends, carers and support workers are also welcomed and included in the sessions.

With regular clients Thea often develops creative projects, connecting settings to the wider community, often collaborating with other creative practitioners such as artists, florists and puppeteers.

Get in touch and see if Song Box has something special to add to your provision. Thea's popular formats include:

“Song Box Sing-a-long” with Thea Jacob

An informal “communal singing” format encouraging active participation, social engagement, dancing, movement and creative development. These sessions are tailored to the abilities, interests, personalities and aspirations of the group.

"Sing-a-long Plus" with Thea Jacob and an accompanist

(using our keyboard if necessary). An interactive format creating social and individual opportunities to contribute and engage in singing, rhythm, dance and movement as appropriate to each individual.

"Moving beyond words" 1:1 interaction with Thea Jacob.

Highly person centred, interactive and improvisational approach, working 1:1 with a succession of residents to promote meaningful and enjoyable social interaction and personal expression, reducing anxiety and affirming individual identity. Here's an example of my 1:1 approach.
